TXDOT re-striped the intersection to make traffic flow a little better, but that’s only the beginning. TXDOT’s Diann Hodges says in the future one project will widen the roadway, but a second project, the long term plan is to widen the roadway at the intersection and build a new bypass lane that will allow traffic on 620 to flow on to 2222 without going all the way up to the light at the intersection.
Also from 10PM to 5AM, crews are going to install what they call delineators, those are the plastic sticks that come up from the road. They’re supposed to keep you from making an illegal left turn, as many drivers seem to do on 2222 approaching 620.
