Pflugerville school district may vote on a new bond package in November

Pflugerville ISD is looking at asking to borrow $326-million for a variety of things, including a new middle school and two new elementary schools because of the district’s fact-paced growth that officials say is outpacing the capacity of the current schools.

At least one trustee has suggested funding three new elementary schools so they could actually stay ahead of the ongoing growth.  Along with that aspect, money would also be pumped into upgrades to current facilities that are showing signs of aging, as well as increases for school security, a new bus fleet, and funding for career training.  The board has made no final decision.
