By this fall, TxDOT hopes to begin construction on the new bypass at 2222 and 620. TxDOT’s Bruce Byron said recently that he thinks it’s something that could give drivers some of the most significant relief they’ve seen in many years, mainly because it helps the most people reduce their commute due to the fact it is one of the biggest bottlenecks on 620.
That bypass should allow drivers to make a speedy right turn off of 620 without stopping. Currently, TxDOT is re-paving 620 between Mansfield Dam and 2222.
