TxDOT’s HERO program patrols 138 miles of five highways in the Austin area and soon they will expand the service to seven days a week but only on I-35. TxDOT’s Diann Hodges they just got funding for it and should start in a couple of months.
Hodges says the free roadside service will also have trailers to help remove debris from the roadway that causes crashes.
