Travis County Sheriff at an impasse with the TCS Law Enforcement Association

(TCSO)

Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez finds herself at odds with the Travis County Sheriffs Law Enforcement Association over a proposed thirteen percent pay raise. Hernandez submitted a proposal to Commissioners Court about what she wanted and the raises the union wanted weren’t on there… but some of Hernandez’ other priorites were.

The union says at a June 28 meeting with Hernandez that the two parties would not oppose each other during the budget cycle for their budget objectives, but Hernandez wrote Commissioners the night before their proposal was to be heard last week opposing it, which led to an impasse.

Judge Sarah Eckhart says they’ll make a final budget decision in the coming weeks.
