Get set to deal with some weekend roadwork in Hays County.
Beginning Friday night at 10:30 p.m., the Texas Department of Transportation will temporarily close the southbound I-35 mainlanes in San Marcos as crews set 15 bridge beams and install deck panels on the future overpass at Posey Road. This work will be dependent upon weather conditions.
The planned work will affect overnight commutes for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Posey Road will be reduced to one lane beginning at 8:30 p.m., and by 10:30 p.m. all of the southbound I-35 mainlanes will fully close. Traffic will detour to the southbound I-35 frontage road via the Posey Road exit and will re-enter at the entrance ramp south of York Creek Road.
All lanes will reopen to traffic as work is completed, but no later than 8:00 a.m. each morning.
