The Texas Supreme Court has ordered the cancellation of the two-day in-person July Texas bar examination in response to a growing number of COVID-19 cases and hospital admissions.
The Court’s order says the Board of Law Examiners should administer an online exam between October 5-6, but keep an option for an in-person test to be offered in September, “subject to guidance from public health authorities.”
The decision was made following a proposal from the Board of Law Examiners to postpone the exam. That proposal also found support from recent law school graduates and nearly a dozen deans from various schools across the state.
