UT’s athletics department is slashing their staff with a series of layoffs and furloughs, to save $13.1 million dollars.
Officials say due to covid 19, the Athletics department has laid off 35 staffers and permanently cut 35 vacant positions. 273 staffers will see their salaries cut, while another 11 will be furloughed.
