Austin has become just a bit less funny and a less weird place as the Iconic Cap City Comedy Club announced it is closing its doors for good.
After more than 30 years of being a mainstay of Austin’ entertainment sector and hosting nationally and locally known comedians, officials say the covid pandemic was too much for them.
However the owners may decide to relaunch the comedy club at some point in the future.
Fans of the Austin fixture are mourning the clubs end, and even left letter, flowers and lit candles at the shuttered business’ door.
