Travis County’s eviction moratorium has come to an end.

Effective today, Travis County landlords can resume filing notices of eviction for unpaid rent. County Judge Andy Brown says applications for federal aid are being prioritized based on need, so those who are five months or more behind are being moved to the front of the line, “we don’t want to send…some number of these people out on the streets at this point, when we are trying to do the opposite.”

The county has a little less than $11-million in federal relief remaining in its rental assistance program. Tenants and landlords can both apply for up to 12 months of funding.
