The Texas Workforce Commission will stop paying Extended Benefits as of Saturday, September 11, 2021.
Extended Benefits are only available during periods of high state or national unemployment, which state law specifies as a rate of 6.5 percent or more.
The July unemployment rate in Texas fell to 6.2 percent.
Claimants currently receiving EB may continue to receive benefits until the benefit week ending September 11, as long as they remain eligible.
