Texas bars are once again closed.

Governor Greg Abbott issued that order Friday. Austin bar owner Bob Woody is with the Texas Bar and Nightclub Alliance and said he anticipates the number of bars that won’t recover this time to be in the thousands, “When we’re moving the economy around and it’s headed towards a stall, we’re in a bad position in that regard.” Woody said hundreds of bars didn’t survive the first shutdown.

However he’s choosing to stay optimistic that the bar industry will eventually rebuild to its pre-COVID levels, “I believe we will get back to normal, but all of this is such indicative the the clock,” he continued, the longer it takes for that to happen, the more employees will be out of a job.
