A man is killed after trying to cross I-35 on foot

Austin police are left with more questions than answers following a man was hit and killed after trying to cross I-35 on foot this morning near 6th Street.  But Austin police officer Bino Cadenas said they don’t have any way of knowing yet who the person might be.  He said the only thing they do know is that he’s a man in his 20s.

An 18-wheeler hit him as he tried to cross and then a second car also hit him, but neither driver will be facing any charges.

The southbound lanes were shutdown for most of the morning rush hour.
