Even as Austin’s land use rules re-write CodeNEXT is being nixed, the supporters of the petition to get it on the November ballot say a vote for it is still important. Bill Bunch with Save Our Springs says CodeNEXT, which was supposed to simplify the land development code collapsed because the process was flawed from the get-go.
Bunch says however the vote comes out will affect what the city does on its next attempt to rewrite land use rules.
