The latest Crime and Traffic report shows in almost every category Austin’s Police Department solves and clears more cases than the national average.
That has Chief Brian Manley beaming, he said the men and women who serve in the investigative units put forth and exceed clearance levels on a national level.
And this is despite, he adds, APD struggling to add more Investigators. But, Manley believes staffing will be an ongoing conversation with city leaders as they look at the department’s needs and how to best accomplish that.
