On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, Austin Police Department officers and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services responded to a shooting at the Bridge at Harris Ridge Apartments at 1501 E. Howard Lane. Several 911 callers reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area of the apartments. Officers at the scene found a female juvenile who had been shot. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
The investigation is still ongoing.

This case is being investigated as Austin’s 31st homicide of 2023.
