The Austin Police Department has arrested a man in connection to a deadly crash on February 14 that killed a woman on Ed Bluestein Boulevard.
According to reports, police responded to the crash just after 12:00 p.m. and found Denise Maxine Cunningham dead at the scene. A passenger was also transported to the hospital.
Silverio Castillo-Hortelano was arrested and booked into the Travis County Jail on March 3rd. Castillo-Hortelano is charged with two Second Degree Felonies; Manslaughter, and Racing on a Highway Causing Death.
This is being investigated as Austin’s 11th fatal crash of 2023, resulting in 11 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2022, there were a total of nine fatal crashes that resulted in 10 deaths.
