Four men are now facing multiple charges following an arrest over the weekend in downtown.  According to the Austin Police Department, the four arrests are part of the city’s ongoing pushback against illegal guns, specifically in the downtown area.

On Sunday, January 30, 2022, APD officers assigned to the Downtown Unit responded to a call at the Gulf gas station on East. 7th St.  Officials say multiple men were seen pulling out firearms in the parking lot, and then later getting into a black Nissan Altima and leaving the scene.

Officers located the vehicle in the 600 block of the northbound I-35 service road.  Of the four arrested, three are said to be juveniles.  Police say the four were found to be possession of multiple firearms, including an AK-47, and drugs that include methamphetamine and ecstasy.
