The Austin Police Department will grow its ranks this week.
54 new officers will be welcomed during a graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024. The commencement ceremony for the 152nd cadet class will take place at The Bannockburn Church – 7100 Brodie Lane, Austin, TX 78745.
The 152nd Cadet Class will be commissioned during the ceremony after completing a demanding 32-week training program. Their training included legal issues, driving, crisis intervention training, community policing, leadership, defensive tactics, and physical fitness.
Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis will administer the Oath of Office to the cadets during the ceremony. Various awards highlighting dedication and achievement by individual cadets will be presented during the ceremony.
