“It is alleged that three pickpocketing suspects from a Nashville incident last weekend may be traveling to Austin, and staying through December 2,” APD Commander Jennifer Stephenson said. “At this time the subjects are not wanted by the Austin Police Department, as they have not committed crimes within our jurisdiction. If you have any questions about the case in Nashville, please contact the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority or the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.”
The men were first seen on surveillance footage in Nashville, and then later in the Nashville airport after booking flights to Austin.
APD stressed the importance of situational awareness, such as paying attention to the location of your valuables and belongings, particularly if you’re in a high traffic area or you’ve been bumped into by someone. Always remove valuables from your vehicle, take your keys, and lock your car doors.
