Austin Police say the suspect in the domestic violence SWAT callout this morning has fled the scene. The suspect is at-large. He is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s. No other description was available.

An overnight domestic violence incident in northeast Central Austin prompts Austin Police to call out the SWAT team. A woman was assaulted by her husband and family members called cops. Police were able to evacuate the woman and two small children to safety without the suspect’s knowledge. Officer Bino Cadenas says negotiations are still going on. “We initiated a SWAT callout and it’s just to get him to come out peacefully now. Over time we will gain entrance into the home and go in there and get him ourselves, but we’re allowing time. We know he’s intoxicated and he is armed with a handgun.” The woman was being hospitalized. Neighbors in the area around the house on Clearbrook Drive were evacuated.
