Law enforcement officials make an arrest connected to a spree of vehicle burglaries in Williamson County’s Vista Oaks Subdivision.
The Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody took to twitter and said in addition to one person in custody and at least one firearm has been recovered. He says investigators are still on the hunt for others believed to be involved.
Chody reported, in the burglary spree, all 35 vehicles were left unlocked and said this serves as a reminder to secure your homes and vehicles. In addition to taking your valuables with you after a drive.
The Austin area has seen another bout of car burglaries. Recently in residents and visitors of the Domain came forward about vehicle breakins. Austin Police Officer John Gabrison says there’s more to the problem than people leaving valuables out in the open and their doors unlocked. Gabrison said people often complain online but don’t call the police. He explained if the police don’t get a call about a problem, they won’t know it exists.
