Austin City Council made their play to extend talks with UT over Lions Municipal Golf Course.
Council voted Thursday Nov. 11th, to move a contract deadline they have with the UT System to February of next year. Muny advocate Mary Arnold was pleased with the decision.
“I know this is a great challenge, but it means alot to this community.”
However Mayor Steve Adler explained, the UT System leadership has yet to agree to an extension, this is just a motion by Council. The mayor expects the UT Board of Regents to meet later this month.
The original negotiations are still supposed to end later this month, unless the UT System agrees to the extension.
