Northwest Austin may soon be home to the city’s latest acquisition of a motel to be used for COVID isolation and/or homeless housing. The city will consider this week a 60-day lease of the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Highway 183, along with three 30-day extensions. Just under $911,000 will be spent on the lease, as well as an additional $59,000 for cleaning and restoration.
