Austin Cops Honored for Flood Rescue

Austin police rescue 3 people, dog in flood waters

Three Austin police officers are being commended for their bravery during Friday’s torrential downpour that caused flooding across much of the Austin-area.  APD has released video showing officers Kevin Perrydore, Benjamin Cochran, and Matthew Valli rushing to save the occupants of a car being swept away by floodwater on Old Bee Cave Road near U.S. 290.

Three people and a dog were rescued just moments before the car was washed downstream.  The officers credit their actions to simply being at the right place at the right time AS THEY WERE PATROLLING IN SOUTHWEST aUSTIN.
