Austin has continued to lead the State of Texas in population growth, and with that comes robust job creation. Local economist Angelos Angelou says wages are also on the rise, but he says it’s still not keeping pace with what people need to feel comfortable on a monthly basis. Angelou also says employers are having a tough time filling their payrolls because of a skills gap that has left them unable to find the kind of talent they’re seeking.
