The Austin school district hits pause on its school closure plan.

AISD’s timeline originally had officials planning to present a list of schools for closure, with a final vote set in October.  But just Thursday night (8/1), the district issued a statement.  Citing what AISD called an “incredible amount” of community feedback, that timeline has now changed, and instead of that list of schools being presented this month, the it will be pushed back until next month, allowing the school board to think more closely about those community recommendations.  A draft will be presented to the board on September 6, with a final vote now planned or November 18.
