The Austin Police Department needs your help as they investigate a South Austin Murder.
Sergeant Eric De Los Santos said they were called out to the Bainbridge Villas apartment complex at 3606 Southridge Drive near 290 Sunday morning after two men stumbled across the body of Guillermo Bernal Gomez, 32. De Los Santos said, the men though Gomez had been drinking but found that was not the case and called 911. operators walked them through giving Gomez CPR. But De Los Santos says it was to no avail.
When APD and Travis County EMS teams arrived, Gomez was dead. The investigation is in the very early stages, and De Los Santos is asking for witnesses to come forward. There have been reports that Gomez was shot, but officials say that will be up to the Medical examiner to determine.
De Los Santos explained they are still trying to learn whether or not this killing was a targeted attack or just random.
