Austin Police Seek Help in Auto-Pedestrian Crash

Detectives with the Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit are still investigating a deadly crash that happened in late-September involving an SUV and a pedestrian. According to APD, detectives are seeking help in identifying a vehicle that left the scene of that crash, which happened in the 4600 block of E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 9:32 p.m.

Police reports show the victim was crossing the road and was struck by a white SUV, followed then by a second unknown vehicle. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the white SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. However, the driver of the second vehicle left the scene without stopping or calling 9-1-1.

The vehicle that left the scene is possibly described as:

  • Chevrolet Equinox
  • 2022
  • Dark Colored
