By the numbers Travis County’s rolling 7-day average for hospitalizations has dropped below 40, which is a strong indication the county is gaining some control over COVID transmission.
In theory, that decline should drop the area back into Stage 3 on the high-risk chart. But Austin Public Health says it won’t do that yet, which means restrictions will remain on gatherings and business reopenings.
