Most notably, as of today, the Austin City Council’s rescinding of the camping in public enforcement takes root, meaning homeless people have much more leeway in where they choose to pitch a tent or just roll out a sleeping bag.
But while this change could impact you, it won’t be impacting City Hall. That’s because the city council stopped short last month of actually allowing homeless people to camp in front of the City Hall building.
Mayor Steve Adler said recently, that ban will be reviewed, but he does not want to see it rescinded, adding that, in his eyes, it would be wrong to call the council hypocritical for their stance on this.
