As folks celebrate the 233rd birthday of the USA, Fire officials are urging them to use their fireworks carefully and safely. Will Boettner with the Travis County Fire Marshall’s Office says more than half of the injuries sustained by kids under five by fireworks were caused by sparklers.
Bottener says a sparklers extreme heat can burn to the bone within three seconds. He says never let young children play with or light fireworks, including sparklers.
