A bottled water distribution point will be set up for water utility customers in southwest Austin on Friday, June 7, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., at Bowie High School, 4103 W. Slaughter Lane. Austin Water is making the bottled water available as repairs get underway to a 48-inch water line. According to Austin Water, this will also assist with efforts to conserve water and minimize chances for service disruption during the repair.
The repair work, as announced on Monday, is expected to render the line out of service for up to 12 hours, depending on field conditions. Repair crews and contractors have already prepped the site in hopes of restoring the line as quickly as possible, the utility said.
This does not impact all Austin Water customers. Customers can refer to an interactive map at this link to determine if their address is in the affected area.
