Cap Metro Seeks Public Input on Sweeping Transit Plans

Capital Metro and the Federal Transit Administration (will host a public meeting on the Guadalupe-North Lamar-South Congress corridor on Monday, April 8. The purpose is to collect public input that will help them choose between light rail, bus rapid transit, and autonomous rapid transit for Austin’s #1 transit corridor.

Unlike other Project Connect events, this meeting is being conducted under federal law and with the participation of FTA officials.

Attendees will be able to learn more about the proposals and to tell city, federal, and agency leadership what they want to see on the 2020 ballot.

Early scoping will play a large role in determining Austin’s transit future. This is the only meeting scheduled of its kind. Residents concerned with the condition of Austin’s transportation system should attend this event.
