Officials with the City of Cedar Park ceremonially broke ground this week on the new Bell Park adjacent to the new public library in the Bell District, which is currently under construction.

According to the city, the approximately 15-acre park located along Cluck Creek will be a nature-focused area for residents and visitors of all ages. Bell Park will feature a trailhead and shared-use path that will provide a connection for the neighborhoods west of the Bell District and at Bell Boulevard, as well as connections to the Cedar Park’s broader trail network as it is developed. In addition, Bell Park will also feature a pavilion, art installations, and public restroom facilities.

“I love how the design of this park stays true to the community’s desire to create a unique gathering place in the heart of our City and how it integrates public art in a natural setting, said Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin. “The preservation of all these heritage trees speaks to our goal of responsible stewardship of natural resources and is the perfect background for our new library.”

Bell Park, scheduled to open in fall 2024, was funded by a combination of Community Development Corporation funds and 2022 General Obligation Bond funds.
