Austin Water crews have repaired a 21″ wastewater main break that resulted in a sewage overflow at 10801 Sierra Oaks. An extact figure is not yet known, but officials estimate mroe than 100,000 gallons of the sewage leaked into a tributary off of Bull Creek.
The spilled sewage has been cleaned.
The cause is still under investigation but early indications are that the sewage line break was a result of old age.
This overflow has not affected Austin’s drinking water supply.
Officials with the Austin Watershed Department took samples on Monday to determine if there is any downstream contamination, but the department feels confident Bull Creek itself was not affected.
