Austin City Council will vote on August 9th to start competely fresh on writing new rules for the use of land in the city. The proposed rules that will be scrapped have cost 8.5 million dollars in consultant fees.
Georffrey Tahuahua with the Real Estate Council of Austin said they were surprised at Mayor Adler’s abrupt announcement that CodeNEXT should be halted, but they did expect it.
Austin NAACP President Nelson Linder pulls no punches on Austin Mayor Steve Adler and the city council after Adler posted on the Council online bulletin board that he favors halting the CodeNEXT process and having City Manager Spencer Cronk come up with another way. Linder believes there needs to be leadership changes at City Hall starting with Mayor Adler.
