As the Austin Travis County Sobriety Center gets closer to opening its doors for business next month, County Commissioners are learning some sobering statistics about binge drinking. The Center’s executive director Rhonda Patrick told county commissioners that binge drinking is surprisingly high among those who earn $75 thousand dollars or more annually, Patrick also states that college students who frequent the entertainment district also figure prominently in binge drinking statistics.
The Center will have a grand opening August 22nd and start taking clients the next day with an eye on being open 24-7 by October in time for the ACL Festival.
