Concerns raised about the speed of the land use rewrite

In its haste to rewrite the Land Development Code, the City of Austin could be making crucial mistakes. So says the former Austin Neighborhoods Council, President David King. He believes one of the most critical parts involves what’s called Transition Zones, which are areas surrounding major transit corridors including established neighborhoods.
 
Upzoning means granting more intensive use of land that was previously allowed, such as building high-density multi-family structures on a previously single family home lot.
