Congressman John Carter's 3-point win was his narrowest margin in 16 years

Congressman John Carter holds off MJ Hegar in the race for the U.S. House of Representatives.  Carter, who will serve his ninth term in Congress, says this election should serve as a major wake up call for republicans.

Carter, who is from Round Rock, got fewer votes in Williamson County than Hegar, which voted heavily in favor of Donald Trump in 2016.

His 3-point win is the smallest he’s had since 2002.
