COVID Vaccines are in Austin, but most will still have to wait

Covid Vaccine doses

The COVID-19 Vaccine is officially in Austin.

Local healthcare workers are first in line to take the COVID cure. So if you’re not on the frontlines or in a nursing or long-term care facility, you will have to wait. In fact, if you’re not in any of the priority groups, Austin Mayor Steve Adler thinks early summer is the timeframe for your vaccination.

As of today, UT Dell Medical School has gotten more than 19,500 doses. It’s expected to hold on to 3000 of those, and it will be the only site distributing vaccines today and possibly tomorrow as well. In total, Austin will have 13,650 doses.
