An autopsy was performed for convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in his Manhattan Correctional Facility cell Saturday morning. New York Democrat Senator and 2020 Presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand was on CBS’ Face the Nation. She says Epstein’s alleged victims deserved a day in court.
“They deserved to speak out against the perpetrator, and it is a shame that he committed suicide,” she says.” “I do think there needs to be a full investigation…about why he was taken off of the suicide watch list. I think it’s a strange decision considering that he attempted suicide once already.”
Officials have yet to release the autopsy findings for Epstein. Many alleged victims, lawmakers, and Attorney General Bill Barr have demanded investigations into Epstein’s death.

A group is filing a department of labor complaint against Austin-based Workers Defense Project. The Alliance for Economic Freedom’s Rusty Brown says they want WDP investigated after the labor group pushed through Austin City Council the Better Builder Program.
“This organization is representing a group of workers for the purposes of collective bargaining, but doing it under a nonprofit so that they’re no subject to the same rules and requirements as a labor organization would normally be,” Brown says.
Brown says, Workers Defense is a more policy directed labor union and wants to see how its funds are being used.

It has been two weeks since Austin Police Chief Brian Manley imposed 100-percent mandatory staffing in downtown following multiple weeks of shootings. Manley says APD has now added two mobile trailers and more bike cops to increase visibility. A memo from the chief says drugs, assaults, and public drunkenness have been the main issues. More police are expected every weekend for the next couple of months.
