Ten Democrats faced off Wednesday night in Detroit — the latest debate among the party’s 2020 White House candidates. One issue they couldnt agree on: immigration.
One issue they all agreed on, however: ousting President Trump.
Top contenders Joe Biden and Kamala Harris came under fire from rivals. Biden defended so-called “Obamacare” and a public option as others pushed for a “Medicare for All” overhaul. Harris’ support for that health care plan drew criticism from Michael Bennet as a vehicle for raising taxes on the middle class while Tulsi Gabbard chided Harris for jailing thousands over marijuana violations as a prosecutor.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz has referred former FBI Director James Comey for possible prosecution for leaking private memos, but DOJ officials under Attorney General Bill Barr reportedly have decided to decline prosecution. Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham of South Carolina reacted on Fox’s ‘Hannity’.
“Well, number one, I want to see the report,” he said. “I like John Solomon, he’s a good reporter, but if it’s true that the Inspector General has referred the FBI Director for criminal prosecution –.”
“It’s true,” Hannity interrupted.
“–that’s stunning. Okay, we’ll know in a few weeks. It’s stunning. Now, if Bill Barr decided not to prosecute on disclosing the memos, I accept his judgement,” Graham said.
FBI agents went to Comey’s house and retrieved a previously unreported memo he drafted the night before the agents arrived, which was well after Comey was fired by President Trump.

Austin home sales are on pace to set new all time records this year. The Texas A&M Real Estate Center predicts 2019 will have record highs for the median price and total dollar sales. The Austin City Council will vote next week on a proposal to create a local government corporation that could help fund new homeless services and shelters. The plan calls for the formation of a board of directors with representatives from the Downtown Austin Alliance, the private business sector, and the federal Continuum of Care program.

The City of San Marcos is expected to announce on Friday an increase in the reward money for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for setting fire to the Iconic Village Apartments last year, killing five people and injuring seven. The ATF will join the city for a joint press conference.
