Dan Patrick accuses Conservative activist of destroying the Texas Republican Party

A twitter fight over gun control leads Lt. Governor Dan Patrick to charge conservative activist Michael Quinn Sullivan with destroying the Texas Republican Party. Patrick took aim on Sullivan after he tweeted that Patrick’s new position against stranger to stranger gun sales is a betrayal of the Constitution

After defending his gun control position, Patrick then tweeted, “By the way, release the tape. You are destroying our party.”

Rice University Political Scientist Mark Jones is referring to Sullivan’s secret recording where Republican House Speaker Dennis Bonnen is said to have offered Sullivan a bribe in exchange for targeting 10 House Republicans in the 2020 Primary.
