Doing away with parking minimums is harming downtown Austin businesses

Parking downtown is already difficult at best and now some Austin leaders want to toss out parking minimums.

Longtime downtown Austin jeweler David Kruger knows all too well how painful it is for his customers, many of whom do not work or live downtown, to visit his store. He claims those in charge seem to forget they’re in Texas.

Kruger said he hopes people who are discouraged from coming downtown during the week to come on Saturday when parking is easier to find.
