A DPS Chief is out of a job and in Travis County Jail. Texas Department of Safety Intelligence and Counterterrorism Chief John Jones was terminated Tuesday (July 30th). Texas Rangers and Travis County Sheriffs Deputies arrested Jones on a sexual assault charge. He’s accused of raping a woman who attended a party at his house a week and a half ago. Police records show Jones was drinking heavily and took a woman out on an ATV to a secluded spot and raped her. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
