Work is set to begin on Wednesday for the Del Valle Independent School District’s final facility from the 2019 Bond program.  A groundbreaking ceremony is planned to mark the start of construction of Del Valle Early College High School and the new P-TECH building.

In November 2019, Del Valle ISD voters passed a $284 million bond proposal. The ECHS and P-TECH building is the last project from this bond to start construction. DVISD hired PBK Architects and American Constructors to design and build the new facility.

The ECHS program provides students the opportunity to earn college credit and an associate’s degree in high school. The P-TECH program offers specialized manufacturing, engineering, and computer sciences pathways. Students in P-TECH can also graduate high school with an associate’s degree in addition to industry certifications.

The ceremony will feature Superintendent Dr. Annette Tielle, DVISD Board of Trustees, and student participants. Special guests planning to attend include former Austin City Councilman Greg Casar, Travis County Judge Andy Brown, and representatives from district partners at Austin Community College, Tesla, and Infineon.
