Since the pandemic ground airport traffic to a near-halt in some cities in 2020, airports across the nation have seen a steady increase in passengers. That includes Austin-Bergstrom International Airport where month after month more and more and more people are being seen.
According to airport officials, 1,203,251 people made their way into or out of Austin throughout the month of February. That’s a whopping 294 percent more passengers than were seen in February 2021. Combined numbers from January and February of this year show 2,300,693 passengers, which is 203 percent more than January and February of 2021.
Airlines to see the biggest increases in Austin include American Airlines (376.5 percent), Alaska Airlines (330.5 percent), and Southwest Airlines (319.1 percent).
