Former Rodeo Austin Manager Charged with Felony Theft

The former finance manager for the nonprofit Rodeo Austin has been indicted by a Travis County grand jury on a charge of Theft of Property of an amount greater than $300,000, a first-degree felony.

According to the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, Mark Weston was arrested on Tuesday.

He could face as many as 99 years in prison.  Weston is accused of stealing more than $1-milion during his time with the nonprofit.

In a statement, Rodeo Austin says: “This theft occurred several years ago, and Rodeo Austin has fully recovered financially and as an organization. We are glad the Travis County District Attorney’s office is moving forward with prosecuting this crime.”
