Fire crews continue to battle a wildfire that touched off on Sunday near Inks Lake State Park.

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the fire has scorched more than 500-acres, but crews have managed to cease its forward progress.

Hundreds of people had to be evacuated, many of whom sought shelter at the Burnet County Community Center, which is still an active evacuation center as of Monday morning.  Some residents have since been allowed to return home.

As of 9:00 a.m., the fire is said to be 35{d9298e16fbff8ff2d9e84a8934eb00b21cf3ccd1154c522a6781c70a3ad80f68} contained.

No injuries have been reported and no homes have been damaged, although several other structures have reportedly caught fire.

Camp Longhorn, which hosts hundreds of kids each year, has moved the campers to another location in the event of a wind shift.

Officials say the fire began on private property on County Road 116.
